3rd Annual AU/UA Fish-Off

Crappie Fishing & Knap-In 2013:
Get crappie fishing tips from Dan Dannenmueller, 2 time Crappie Angler of the Year and Co-Publisher of Crappie Now Online Magazine. Don visits Stan Payne at the Flint, Stone and Bone Creations’ Knap-In, a Primitive Craft Festival, for charity, held the first weekend of March each year. We round out this show with a home video of 3 year old Andrew Godwin, son of Austin Godwin, catching his first bass.

Frontier Days 2012:
Join Don Day as he spends time at Frontier Days at Fort Toulouse in Wetumpka, AL. Once a year in November, visitors can enjoy stepping back in time to what it was like in the period from 1700 to 1820 during Alabama Frontier Days. See genuine blacksmiths at work, traditional Native American dances, battle re-enactments and more. Browse the living history exhibits or tour the 1751 French Fort Toulouse occupied by a full force of authentically costumer French Colonial Marines or visit the War of 1812 camp set up next to 1814 Fort Jackson. Learn the history of both forts from the Living History enthusiasts who give their time to inform the public what life was like in a much harsher time.

Fishing with Jim Hardy:
Jim Hardy, Lure Designer, Professional Angler and founder of O.F.F., bass fishes with Don Day. There’s a lot of bass splashing with the Hardy Tack Craw. In this episode Don visits an O.F.F. event. Outdoor Friends Forever is a non-profit organization founded in 2010 by Jim Hardy to provide outdoor opportunities to people with special needs. The organization hosts multiple events throughout the year including hunting and fishing weekends.

This is an action packed episode featuring the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) at the Wetumpka, Alabama Airport and local Game and Garden author, Stacy Harris, who will teach you how to make and can homemade vegetable soup right from your garden. Crappie Fishing & Sugarcane:

Don Day spends the morning on Lake Jordan, in Elmore County, with local Crappie/Bass Pros and fishing guides, John Pollard and Dallas Weldon, from Bama Spots. Later in the show we spend time with Probate Judge of Elmore County, Jimmy Stubbs and his son, also, Jimmy Stubbs as they teach us about keeping their old family tradition alive, making cane syrup the old fashioned way.

Pam Martin Wells Fishing:

Don Day and Rick Redmon fish the upper part of the Coosa River with lady angler and guide from Georgia Pam Marin Wells and her husband Steven Wells (Pam and Steve Wells Guide Service).

Old School vs. Young Guns:

Don Day and Rick Redmon host a fishing tournament between Fathers and sons. On the “Old School” are Tripp Weldon and Ricky Baker. On the “Young Guns” team are Ben Weldon of the University of Alabama and Shayne Baker of Auburn University.
