Rick Redmon

About Rick:

Rick Redmon was born in Montgomery, Alabama; was raised on a family cattle farm in Montgomery County where he spent his youth, teen and college years working on the farm, learning to hunt, fish, ride horses and enjoy the outdoors. During his lifetime Rick’s interests not only included hunting and fishing but all shooting sports, including sporting clays and 3-D archery. In 1966 when deer were scarce in the central Alabama area Rick began deer hunting and over the next 30 years chased whitetail deer, taking many trophy bucks. In later years Rick mainly bow hunted. Rick’s love of bass fishing began at the pond on the farm; however, by 1973 Rick fished his first bass tournament on Lake Jordan and has since fished over 250 tournaments.

In 2001 Rick and his fishing partner Curt Gantt started Central Alabama Outdoors television show to spotlight the outdoor opportunities available in central Alabama. This show aired for 6 years before his buddy and fishing partner Don Day along with Curt Gantt as videographer, producer, and editor started Venture Outdoors television show in 2006 which continues to air today.

Rick attended Auburn University, Troy University and graduated from Auburn University in Montgomery; he spent 40 years as a successful mortgage banker and retired in 2008. He now works at Sunsouth John Deere and enjoys selling John Deere tractors. He is married to Gretchen, and has lived in Wetumpka since 1973.
